Compliance Oversight

The Army Human Research Protections Office (AHRPO) provides compliance oversight across all Army institutions conducting or supporting human subjects research through the following activities:
  • Monitor ongoing compliance with 32 CFR 219, DODI 3216.02, AR 70-25 (in revision) and related DoD-level policy within Army Assurances and Human Research Protections Programs (HRPPs)
    • Initial and ongoing HRPP assessment
    • Initial and ongoing review of DoD Assurances
    • Exemption Determination Official (EDO) Review
    • Human Research Protection Official (HRPO) Review 
    • Component Level Administrative Review (CLAR)
    • Review and respond to allegations of non-compliance and unanticipated problems
  • Facilitate compliance with other regulatory frameworks addressing human subjects research, including 10 USC 980 and FDA
  • Review and respond to incident reports from DoD research institutions with HRPPs
