AHRPO Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Army Human Research Protections Office (AHRPO) include:

  • Oversee Army research institutions with Army-issued DoD Assurances and Human Research Protections Programs (HRPP)
  • Develop Army-level HRPP regulations, policy, and guidance and ensure compliance with other regulatory frameworks
  • Provide Component-Level Administrative Review (CLAR), Human Research Protections Official (HRPO) review, Assistance review, and Exempt Determination Official (EDO) review as applicable (see the DA/DoD HSR Reviews section of this website for details)
